Earlier this summer, we invited the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to chair a webinar on energy data access and the Green Button initiative in the United States.
The Green Button initiative establishes a common set of standards, processes and technologies to allow energy consumers to download and share their energy consumption data.
As part of the webinar, speakers from NIST and the White House explained the history of the initiative, how it came into being, and the results from Green Button so far.
We’ve included the video of that webinar below. If you’re interested in how the Green Button project came to be, it’s a good place to start.
If you’re interested in being involved in the rollout of something similar to Green Button in Ontario, or general energy data access issues, send us an email.
